I have named this website after an area close to where I was born in the village of Seaforth.
Seaforth Sands was the name of the northern-most station on the Liverpool Overhead Railwy, adjacent to the Gladstone Dock. Seaforth itself is a northern suburb of Liverpool, now situated within the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton which covers an area from Bootle in the south to Southport in the north.
The picture below was taken on a Royal Occasion - the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II on June 2nd 1953 during the street party in Rossini Street, the street where I was born six years earlier and where members of my family have lived from about 1919 until the early 2000's
Incidentally, I am the end child on the right side of the picture..
